The first tip is to make sure your pieces are in the best shape possible. Inspect each piece thoroughly, and repair any tears, rips, or holes in the fabric. Make sure the buttons and clasps are securely attached. You should also iron your pieces to make them look as close to new!
Another tip is to look at the buttons, zips, or other clasps on the pieces. If they look worn or too outdated to ever come back into style, you can change these yourself. Just go to your local fabric store and find modern looking buttons and clasps to replace the old ones. You will be surprised at just how much of a transformation just changing the buttons can make. You just have to use a little bit of creativity. Start by looking at your vintage piece. Take your piece with you to a fabric store. Lay different embellishments on your piece until you find the perfect look. Then, you can buy your embellishments to take home and sew on the garment. You can really dress up a casual piece using this method.
Another way to re-vamp a vintage piece to re-sell online is to use accessories to modernise the look.
